Boxing and Skiing
Discovered a great way of training for skiing...
Boxing training!
It helps with - balance + core stability + strengthens the legs.
Also, it's a lot more fun than doing reps.
I highly recommend it.

Knockout !
I never realised how fit you have to be to do boxing ...if you are hitting a punch bag remember to get some wraps for your hands and some decent gloves...try 50 1-2 hits hard against the punch bag then immediately 60 1-2 hits as fast as you can against the top of the punch bag.....twice with a minute in between
Daved - agree with you on the wraps.
It helps to have a training partner with some pads, practicing ducking or rolling is an amazingly good workout for the legs.
Bag work helps to train explosive fitness which is often what you need when skiing. 5x3mins with 1 min breaks is absolutely knackering.

Even boxing on the wii is knackering
Could come in handy for queue jumpers.
Just been going through some old posts and found this. I've been going to box-fit for a couple of months now - it's a bloody good work out and I feel better for it, although I do feel I need to do something else in addition to just the one hour a week before I get on my skis in 5 weeks time.
Anyway, it's better than nothing and I get to punch any pent up anger out of my system.
