Neilson chalet holidays - group bookings only until September!?!?

Via Neilson's Facebook page, found the attached yesterday;

It seems that for 2012/13, only groups that can fill a whole chalet can book chalet holidays before 30 September - so the likes of me and Mr Jocrad74, travelling alone, willing to share a chalet, would have to leave it until October.

Now I don't know about you, but if your company, i.e. Thomas Cook, was in such a dire financial situation as has been reported, would you want to limit your booking opportunities like this?

Bad news if you had your heart set on a particular chalet on a particular week.

But .....
I am sure they have looked at their booking patterns and seen that they end up with partially filled chalets where they have had to refuse a whole chalet booking because one room had been booked.

On the place I used to run which would take over 80 guests when full the break even point was something like 55. So less than 55 beds taken meant a loss that week.

Gotta consider all these factors - after all a thriving and vibrant industry is to all our advantage.

Indeed!! We're already booked with Skiworld this time, but have been with Neilson the previous 2 years and had we not seen somewhere we really fancied the look of with Skiworld would have been likely to go via Neilson again!! It just strikes me as closing the door on thsoe customers, like ourselves, who are travelling as a couple and want chalet accomodation. I know you can book from october onwards, and maybe many people do so later in the year, but hey ho, that's my opinion....

I think theres more to it than meets the eye. Expect accommodation and flights to be withdrawn. Possibly.
