Mrs TP has found a reasonable deal to Tremblant in Jan, hotel looks fine, no cars in village, lovely, looks pretty and the hill looks inviting for a weeks skiing.

Downside, a long way but nothing a couple of Nytol couldn't sort out ?

Also, are the deals that the holiday companies offer today not as good as the ones in June/ July?

We looked at Tremblant a couple of years ago, ended up going to Banff because we could get a better deal at that time. The flight time is shorter than Banff and we didn't have any problems even with a delay so I'm sure you will be fine, just stay hydrated on the plane.
An early deal sometimes works out cheaper than a late one as you don't incur any late booking fees, ticket delivery courier charges and you have time to source cheaper lift passes etc (try liftopia also sometimes in Canada and the US you can get cheaper tickets in "drugstores").
Tremblant is still on our to do list when the price is right. Have fun x

My son lives in Michigan and went on a week trip to Tremblant last winter. His honest assessment was it was too small a ski area, the town had no atmosphere, and drinks were stupidly expensive.

Hi Lilywhite, we had the same dilemma a few years ago and, like you, chose Banff as the deal was much better. That is why am contemplating Tremblant this time (and the deal is better as Bogof lift pass too)

TH, thanks for the tip, the ski area seems to be a concern of mine too, however, for 7 days it may be worth a try ??

mmmmmm, I have to make a decision before 30 May.

Ive been to Mont Tremblant twice, first time was when I learnt to ski, it was the best decision to learn there we never had more than 4 to a group and I went from knowing nothing to skiing red runs in 5 days!!!! They are fantastic instructors and very patient and almost one to one skiing for the price of a group!!!
We stayed at the Fairmont first time then Country Suites self catering second time! Both were brilliant and the country suites also had a managers specials afternoons thrown in which was free food pizza, bread pate cheese and free beer and wine!! Amazing!
The Village restaurants are fabulous! The skiing area is just one big mountain so it really depends on your skiing ability nothing like europe at all but plenty to ski for the week and some black runs are challenging (did second time) plenty of variety greens blues and reds Moguls and also The Edge which is tree lined runs great!!!
I agree the time difference being 5 hours is difficult to adjust to for just 1 week would not advise with small kids! First time we went on our own as a couple (my 40th) second time with young kids and they were up at 4am!!!!! Time difference is do able though! Only 6hr .50 mins flight and 1 and half hour transfers to resort! Be aware its extremely cold first time round minus 30 degrees and be prepared to wear balaclava's no part of your skin can be exposed in these conditions but it does vary, last time wasn't that cold!!!!
Hope this helps a little!!!

I agree with most of comments above.

If I had my choice I would not go to Tremblant for these reasons;
1. better snow and skiing out west ( Big White, Fernie Panorama, Lake Louise )
2. Small center
3.icy since too much traffic with "slum condos on cliff side "
4.too expensive since it has the "interwest design" . Get skiers to center then suck out all money from them in all services.
5.Artificial "european village"
6. Very cold in first two on new year.
7. If good skier after 2 days ,,,,bored

Just my opinion.

Thats pretty much what WTSS told me when I read up on it.

If you want a small ski area, why fly 8 hours for it? Or if you specifically want to go to Canada, there are much better resorts. The ski pass deal is good but like all things in life, you get what you pay for. If I was going to Canada, I'd be looking at 10-14 days and skiing somewhere like Whistler, Banff, Lake Louise etc.

Agreed, especially due to the jet lag.
Skied: Arinsal, La Plagne, Alpe D'huez, Flaine, Les Arcs, Morzine, Les Gets, Avoriaz, Sauze, Courchevel, Val Thorens
