Sheffield Ski Village - Destroyed by Fire
This dry slope was where I first put skis on (many years ago) and for the main building it to be destroyed by fire is quite sad
. My son was due to do some down hill racing there, representing his school.
I hope they manage to rebuild as it did encourage youngsters.

High Wycombe's facility also burnt down, back in 2005. It has sat empty and derelict ever since.
A 'replacement' facility was given planning consent in 2008 for a 'real snow' indoor slope (120m), outdoor (300m) and ice skating. But doesn't look like it will ever go-ahead.
The site was recently put up for sale in January this year. Any takers?

I'm so lucky...but I can't tell u why (oh ok, just 'cause it's you...I'm in La Plagne!!)
