Advice sought: we are a group of 8 thinking of going to Alpe d'Huez on March 31st. 4 are intermediate skiers and 4 are beginners who will be doing ski school.
Is the resort suitable for both groups and is the resort high enough to have decent snow conditions in early April?

Appreciate your feedback,

Fergs

The resort is ideally suited for the group with a fantastic array of slopes for both levels.

I have not skied it that late in the season and would be a bit concerned about snow quality. From memory, most of the resort is south facing and it is not known as the L'ile de Soleil (island in the sun) for nothing.

You might have to live with reasonable skiing in the morning while afternoons might be better spent relaxing in the very nice town pool

ADH is probably the best all rounder in france. There are masses of funs for the beginner and huge amounts for the intermediate.....enjoy,
Skied: Arinsal, La Plagne, Alpe D'huez, Flaine, Les Arcs, Morzine, Les Gets, Avoriaz, Sauze, Courchevel, Val Thorens

It is definitely good for all abilities and high but, a word of warning with the warm weather approaching, my eldest had a school trip booked at easter last year and they changed it to Serre Chevalier a week before the holiday. A lot lower but held the snow. Looking at the webcams was shocking, the slopes were green! There are a lot of good, high, snowsure resorts to suit your abilities. I'd also look at Val Thorens, Tignes, Obergurgl  , Cervinia...

Easter was a struggle last year as the snow was not so good across many/most of the alpine resorts and Easter was later in April! 31st March will be just fine this season - and it is a great all round resort with great extra activities to enjoy from the pool to the ice rink as well as ski joering, night skiing ete etc etc

I love ADH but its an early season resort unless you like water skiing.

Thanks guys, i'm a little concerned about it being south facing and with the weather reportedly getting milder it could turn into water skiing very quickly.
other options in our price range include Les Arcs, La Plagne or Tignes.
I've skied Tignes before and really enjoyed it but was hoping to try somewhere else but if its got the highest probability of decent conditions then i guess its a runner.
