Purchashed boots online and my shell size is too large

I just purchased Lange's Exclusive RX 80's with a last of 100mm, size 22.5 mondo. The issue that I have is that although I am a size 22.5 mondo, Lange uses a 23/23.5 shell for all of their size 22.5 mondo's for this particular model.

I have read in several blogs that ski boot manufacturers don't typically publish this information for this size foot and that it is common for there not to be a "true" size 22/22.5 (265 mm range) shell for women, i.e. a 23/23.5 (275 mm range) shell is used, because demand is so low, and costs would be too great for manufacturers, etc.

The questions I have are: 1.) Is there a boot on the market that is a size 22.5 mondo, 100mm last, and true sole length in the 265 mm range? 2.) If I decide to keep these boots how much will my skiing be impacted? I consider myslef an intermediate to advanced skiier.

Thank your for your help!

Levelnine Sports site list most of the sole lengths for the boots they have in stock (you have to select a size to see the length). Might be useful.

May I suggest that you be very very careful about buying boots on net !

For the sake of "saving" a few euros,,you may have a some major problems!

Let me share mine!

I have a pro deal account by a major ski company so that with a special code I can order what ever they have!

I ordered a special cross-training running shoe. My order was clear !

I get the wrong color and wrong size !

For the past 5 weeks I have been playing "internet/telephone" ping pong with various persons at this company!

By chance I meet the marketing director of this company and at end of our discussion I mention my problem ! Seems shipping staff is new,,,,etc !!!!

Go to your ski shop! You will nor regret it !
Buying boots is not just looking at price,,,,there is that after buying service which is needed !

( It has taken 3 weeks of in/out visits to my ski shop to get my new boots to be like slippers )

Do not sell yourself short ! Your pleasure is more important that those few euros you will "save" !!!!!

manufacturers often do this with some of their boot models to save costs, it costs around €120k for a set of moulds so one less mould is a big saving, it is only on certain boot models and what they normally do to compensate is but a double thickness piece in the front of the liner or a plastic plug in the front of the shell, on langes RX lv 80 or 100 (the slightly narrower version 97mm last (it doesn't feel that narrow)) the 22.5 is a true 22.5 shell with a sole length of 266mm, next year they are producing a 21.5 shell lange are not the worst for this, many companies do not even produce a 22.5 boot and yet insist on making there 23.5 fit like a size 5-6 UK anyone would think they hadn't realised that over 47% of skiers are women and many of them have small feet

the only way you will get them to fit well is to grow your feet by at least another size as they come up big to start with, best return them if you can and start over

salomon idol comes in a 22.5 shell 100mm last, atomic make the hawx 90 in a 22.5, and pretty much all of them make their performance (97-98mm last) in a 22.5 but being honest you will probably fit in the 97mm last from lange with little problem, it fits a bit like a 100mm from most other people...... also need to remember that it is proportional, as the shell size goes down the width does too, the 100mm is for the size 26.5 shell, so a 100mm foot in size 22 is really really wide and a 100mm foot in size 29 is skinny as hell
