If I recall correctly, there's plenty of parking near the resort base!

Lota,

At ski base in Fernie there is a tribe of skiers form all over the world who chase the powder. All in vans, Vanagons, modified trucks, trailers. Ski gypsies all. If you come early you can get a season rate.

Great skiers. Great individuals who share with others. Problem is showers!
You can smell a new Zealand skier 10 meters away!

Great place. Unique in the skiing world.

Go there.

Sorry for late reply..

Spent 2006 season in Fernie, and it was great! Lots of powder, and the park was ok. Someone told me that the park has been removed (or reduced in size) since then, so I cant tell you if its good or not now...

But, Fernie is a great place to spend the season, small town, great people, a lot of seasonal skiers and good bars to hit at night.

I stayed at Samesun when I was there, but they sold the place.

Cant wait to go back =)

Hi Guys,
I'm new to this kinda thing but was hoping someone could give me some tips and information on Canadian Ski Trips especially in British Columbia. My partner and I are looking at heading overseas in December 2013 for a month but I have no idea where to start my search for a trip planner. Can anyone help me out? Would be very grateful!
Thanks, Jess

May I suggest you try ;
Sportvac Voyages ( in order to get most popular sites and prices)

BC ski tourism has great site

All ski centers have great sites.

Finally very best air destination is Calgary the rent car ( which you can share with others)

My choices;

Panorama

Fernie ( for serious powder hounds )

Kicking Horse

Selkirk area

Big White ( for family great social context )

Hope this helps you.

Ive been to a few of the resorts in BC and Alberta. I would check out the internetsite for the resorts, and then maybe check out if you could get discounts if you buy a liftpass that works in different resorts, like RCR ski pass. Most resorts have good and bad sides, but you will get good conditions almost anywhere (never been in Canada in december tough) Fernie is definetly my favourite place, both for snowboarding and the social part of it all.

I dont know you plans, but renting a car gives you a lot of freedom, and will get you fast and easy between the resorts.

Staying in hostels is often a cheap option, and a social option.

Good luck =)
