Looking for an Italian ski resort for spring skiing in April during children school holidays. Any suggestion where will be MOST reliable? J

Probably Cervinia, the lifts are open until 06.05.12.

Depends what you want, but for high altitude guaranteed skiing Cervinia has to be top choice. Or Passo Tonale maybe.

Beware Passo as it is south facing and gets a lot of sun, although it does have the Glacier.

I would recommend Cervinia due to its altitude, try and get a hotel up the hill (we stayed at the Astoria - sounds better than it is but fine) as its quite a walk up to the lifts in the morning. Fairly big area and the option to ski in Zermatt for the day. Only issue is if the wind blows it really blows

Hi there, if you are not after miles of long/hard ski runs, but fancy somewhere picturesque, cheap and safe for your family take a look at www.santacaterina.it
we have been there many times since our four daughters began skiing - they are now teens twenties. fly RYANAIR into bergamo, hire a small cheap car, longish drive to resort, but well worth it. stay at the Park Hotel, Rosa always gives great value and if you can arrive there slightly before the end of March you get free ski passes if you stay for 7 nights,
if you want more info feel free to email me back. annabel.lovestheoutdoors@gmail.com

Livigno is high enough for good snow, bit of a hike from the airports though
