borovets in February?
hi guys, this is my first post
so, last year i went to borovets in late december, this was my first time and i really enjoyed it and definitely caught the bug! however the skiing wasnt great, the nursery runs were icey and there were long queues for button lifts. so this year im going back to borovets with friends but in february and i was just wondering if anyone can tell me what the conditions are like on the blues and greens. last year the runs near the gondola lift (musala pathway, markudjik runs etc ) werent open so i didnt get a chance to venture up there, but this year i'm hoping get a taste of real skiing rather than 5 minute journeys down the nursery runs!
thanks in advance - Charlie

Hi and welcome
Bulgaria is OK for beginners but is quite low and thus not snow sure. Having said that you should be OK in Feb.
Once you really get the bug go to one of the main european resorts....say Passo Tonale as your first venture then try the big boys resorts. You will find lots of info on this forum.
BUT enjoy!!!

Carving leaves me all on edge
Thankyou!
yeah thats what everyone tells me! there was snow cover last year but no more than 20cm at best in december! /:
the group i'm going with varies in skill, theres absolute beginners, then there is people like me who have been once before then theres people who like the reds and Blacks so there should be something for everyone. but seeing as i'm only 16 i go where im sent rather choosing to go to france or austria, but i'm hoping to move on to blues and reds this time around!

If you haven't already booked, then persuade the rest of your group to go to Andorra...Cheap but very much better than Bulgaria for beginners/early intermediates and IMO it's generally a nicer place to be.
If you have booked then it'll still be fun and there shoudn't be a problem withj snow in February.

funnily enough i've heard that from several people! definitely considering Andorra for next year! my family often go to La Molina
tbh i really like borovets and Bulgaria as a place, take everything with a pinch of salt and you'll love the novelty of the area and there are some stunning views!
glad to hear that! Thanks!

la Molina ..... top place
Was there Feb last year and snow was still a bit thin places but most runs and all lifts were open. There were queues of a couple of min for the chairs and bigger queues for the buttons. Huge queue to get onto the gondola first thing in the morning but after the initial rush no queue at all.
Cheers Davkt, putting my mind at rest haha, absolutely buzzing for february now!
