Son on the way home from his first independent foreign expedition - a festival in Belgium - Yo, the high life!!
He managed local buses, Belgium trains, French stuff, the tunnel etc. And missed his bus in London Victoria.

Ho Hum.
A learning moment I think.

Know what you mean - my daughter when she was 19 spent a year in Cuba. On her return had to make a trip to London from Peterborough - I was talking her through the platforms/changes etc 'Mummy I have spent the last year in Cuba' she retorted. A few hours later I had a phone call to say she was in York.
However she managed to speak entirely in Spanish to avoid the extra charge - Hey Ho

Wayward offspring did return sucessfully.
The intriging part is how his bus missing episode was everyone elses fault but his.
I didn't contradict him (no mileage in that - I have learnt).

Even though I have the text stream where I suggested his timings were out and asked him to check with customer service - and the best bit ...
His reply saying he was going to check (@ 8.10pm).

I find it absolutely fascinating watching this rocky road to adulthood.

Changing the subject totally, the Olympic Torch went right past my house today and against all my expectations, it was actually quite exciting! The dog had a wonderful time getting cuddles from everyone walking past which was a bonus!

I saw the torch in Sheffield on a RARE lovely sunny summers evening. What a great atmosphere. Speaking of summer, does anyone know of a sundance as going to an outdoor concert tonight!

I really can't get into all this Olympic torch PR stuff, they could not be bothered to run past my house so I could not be bothered to get the bus into Norwich.

And while I am on the subject why was Will. I. Bloody. am one of the torch bearers

I thought my daily trip to work would be blighted by the torch, which was due to be going the other way on the same road at 9:07 but instead everyone stayed away thinking there would be gridlock and I arrived at work 5 mins earlier than normal. The whole world had deffo gone mad!
I can see my house from here...

Does anyone know if a Sat-Nav company is sponsoring the Olympics? If there is one, the torch is not a good advert for them is it! The quickest way to get it to the games would have been from London City Airport and up the A12. It should have taken 30 minutes
