Why is there never a McDonalds or HFC in ski resorts?

The only ski resort I have been to that has both a HFC and Macs is Zakopane

I second that...although there is a dreaded McD's in Bourg-St-Maurice , I think many ski related countries in Europe have too many people that actually appreciate good local cuisine to let the cheap crap fast food outlets in.

Good wholesome local ski food....bring it on MMmmmmm

McDonalds in Chamonix, Megeve and Zermatt ) Interesting choice of venues, given the typical clientele and prices normally associated with those resorts.
