Do all ski resorts have to have a blue run off the mountain?

I recently heard that all ski resorts have to have a blue run off the mountain, is this true?
I was just remembering the "blue" run down in Val D I'sere that was a narrow "chute" and thinking there's no way it's a blue run .
Then someone said it was a "blue run" for a resort classification.
Just very curious :)

No, that's not true. Only resorts that want their beginners to return have Blues back to base... 8)
That said, the grading at Val d'Isere has something of a reputation - it's the only resort where I've encountered a mogul field on a Green run. They are alleged to do it to ensure they have enough easy runs to appeal to all skiers.

I have had a good life in Niederau. I started off as a ski bum, then an instructor, rose in the ranks as described above. Now in the twilight of my public "N" career. Just humbly grateful that I can manage the odd run 19......
