Hi, Kaprun with the Kitzsteinhorn glacier there will be plenty of snow. The ski bus takes about 10 minutes to take you from the village of Kaprun up to the glacier ski lift.
If you go on Youtube and type in Kaprun, there are a number of videos to watch. There is one from May last year and there was plenty of snow.
There are around a dozen restaurants not sure how many will be open at that time of year. But great food and fantastic views at the top station on the Kitzsteinhorn. The restaurant at the station below is great, plenty of food in a buffet style. Plenty of reports of snow and the website at
http://en.kitzsteinhorn.at/ will give you more information.
I have pasted some advertised events, posted by the tourist board. I would recommend the events at Kaprun's medieval castle, and also in the village square next to the tourist office, there is a lively bar.
There is a swimming pool, with an outside bit! and a sauna. I feel sure your niece will have a great time.
Derek
P.S. Plenty of restaurants too
