Weekly Snow Report - Friday 15 April | Snow Forecasts
The week aheadHello, This week continued with the dominant trend of the season - continuing snowfall in North America and temperatures warmer than usual almost everywhere in Europe. Following a very warm spell in Europe, however, it has got colder over the past few days and significant new snow has been reported from Austria, Switzerland and Germany; albeit generally above 2,000 metres. Although hundreds of resorts are now closed for the season, a fair number of American resorts have announced extended opening into May and June to take advantage of some record season snowfall. Most of Scotland's resorts have now closed, although Cairngorm remains open and reporting reasonable Spring conditions. European Weather and Snow This Coming Week Alpine temperatures have cooled considerably and a little light localized snow is possible to the East and North of The Alps over the next few days. Although it's too far out to be reliable, the longer term trends in the forecasts are indicating a cooler end to April and further snow from mid-week could be quite widespread (with a snow line between 1500 and 2000 metres). Fingers crossed on that... Stay safe, | Discuss Forecast Ski Chat Forum

Stay Safe :- Big Snow means Big Avalanche Risk - make sure you always know and understand the local avalanche risk level before you ski or snowboard off-piste, take appropriate safety equipment and never go off-piste alone. The Snow Reports in this e-mail are for information only. Mountain Weather Systems are notoriously chaotic and any forecast beyond 48 hours is only an indication. Snow Forecasts, Snow Depths and current local Skiing Conditions change rapidly, and you should always obtain the latest, local, information before you ski.
