The week ahead

Hello again,

Weather this week

The week started with significant fresh snow in the French and Swiss Alps, Scandinavia and North America.

Spring sunshine and warm conditions have dominated in recent days, bringing typical Spring skiing to all but the very highest resorts.

Impressive bases still remain in many areas, however, from Sierra Nevada in the South (still boasting four metres of snow) to Cairngorm, Scotland - both of which plan to remain open into May.

European Weather and Snow Next Week

Current Spring conditions will continue for a few days yet.

Temperatures look likely to drop briefly at the start of the week, with the possibility of a little snow at altitude in the North and East of The Alps.

Our latest snow report (8 Apr) indicates snow depths of 375cm (Upper Slopes) and 213cm (Lower Slopes), with the last snowfall on 5 Apr. Donner Ski Ranch reported "powder or packed powder".

Stay Safe :- Big Snow means Big Avalanche Risk - make sure you always know and understand the local avalanche risk level before you ski or snowboard off-piste, take appropriate safety equipment and never go off-piste alone.
