The week ahead

Europe last week

More snow fell just about everywhere with conditions remaining very good across the entire Alpine region. Significant snows brought powder skiing to all the major European areas.

Weather and Snow Next Week

This coming week will be a bit quieter on the snow front, with scattered light snow showers possible throughout the week but becoming more frequent later in the week.

It will remain cold, with frequent low cloud bringing dull conditions to lower altitudes (with sunshine above).

The cool temperatures of late should ease toward their seasonal average toward the end of next week. Although it should feel a little milder there is an increasing likelihood of precipitation by next weekend.

Outlook

In the medium term, temperatures look likely to ease a little (don't panic - winter's far from over yet) with useful precipitation into the second half of February.

Our latest snow report (11 Feb) indicates snow depths of 121cm (Upper Slopes) and 101cm (Lower Slopes), with the last snowfall on 10 Feb. Big Boulder reported "powder snow, scattered".
