Powder Mountain - American Ski Resort (2320m to 2710m)

High altitude Powder Mountain is an all season resort with a great snow record, long season and night skiing to 10pm. Powder Mountain Ski Area is located 55 miles northeast of the Salt Lake City Airport, just north of the Ogden Valley. At 5,500 acres, Powder Mountain claims to be the largest U.S. ski area. Skiers, however, can reach only about half of those acres by coasting from the top of one of Powder Mountain's lifts. The rest of the terrain involves climbing or shuffling along mountain ridges.

Powder Mountain

The American ski resort of Powder Mountain has direct access to 100 individual pistes, served by 7 ski lifts.

The ski resort itself is above 1500m, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With pistes above 2500 metres, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

Ski Lift Capacity :- The 7 Ski Lifts of Powder Mountain are able to uplift 6,350 skiers / snowboarders per hour.

There is an airport within two hours drive, so ski weekends, snowboard breaks and short ski holidays to Powder Mountain are perfectly feasible.

Powder Mountain Aprés Ski

Powder Keg at Resort Center has beer on tap and live music on weekends. It closes at 6pm. Ogden Valley has Shooting Star, the oldest saloon in Utah, and Carlos and Harleys, private club. Most restaurants in the area have liquor licences. Historic 25th Street in Ogden is the entertainment district for the area. The turn of the century street is lined with one of a kind restaurants, clubs, brew pub, and shops. Two blocks away is the Solomon Center which boasts an array of chain restaurants, indoor parachuting, surf pool, movie theatre complex and a bowling alley.

In 2009 a new law came into effect changing Utah’s bar scene. In the past purchasing a temporary membership was required to get into a bar or club. Bars, pubs and clubs now have an open door policy to welcome all comers over 21 and no longer require customers to purchase a temporary membership.
