Skiing in Mount Bachelor

Mt Bachelor has over 3,683 acres of challenging terrain filled with bowls, glades and steep lava chutes. This is a typically volcanic looking mountain with its perfect conical shape providing the perfect pitch for skiers. Many of the trails follow the path the lava would have taken down the mountain which makes for some interesting twisting, turning, roller coaster terrain.

Its quite clear why Ski Magazine readers in the US annually vote Mt Bachelor's lift system the best in North America - it includes 7 high speed quad chairs. Ski Magazine readers also voted the mountain in the North American top ten for glade skiing. Glade skiing areas are open patches between groups of trees and typically offer wide open, uninterrupted powder skiing. The Northwest Territories, Outback and South Side of the Summit provide skiers with excellent glade skiing as well as the many hidden locations which are off the beaten path.

Mt Bachelor has 6 separate day lodge facilities for mountain dining and a good variety of cuisine. Scapolo's (Italian for Bachelor) is the newest mountain restaurant serving gourmet pizzas with spectacular mountain views while the cosy log cabin style Cafe in the Cross Country Centre focus on food for energy serving soups, pastas and deli sandwiches. The Cross Country Center at Mount Bachelor offers over a dozen trails, varying in length from 1K to 12K, with 56K of machine groomed tracked trails.
