Liberty Mountain - Ski Resort and Snow Summary
Liberty Mountain - American Ski Resort
Liberty Mountain is a well managed, service oriented, high quality ski area with modern uplift, state-of-the-art terrain parks, night skiing every night and high quality childcare. The resort was original developed in the mid 1960's as a focal point for a major real estate development. The name of the ski mountain and the development was Charnita, named after Charles and Anita Rist, the developer and his wife.
Charlie Rist brought in a gentleman named Dick Brown to develop and manage the ski area. Dick Brown had just designed Ski Roundtop the year before. It would only be about ten years later that the Charnita development suffered unfortunate bankruptcy, and Ski Roundtop's owner Snow Time, Inc. would purchase the ski mountain and rename it Ski Liberty.
