Granite Peak is the highest skiable mountain in Wisconsin with the second-highest vertical in the whole Midwest (700 feet). It was purchased in 2000 and has expanded very rapidly since. It was formerly known as Rib Mountain. The resort's runs range from the easy and meandering to the heart-stopping pitch of the slalom course. The area has spectacular views of the city lights while night skiing Monday through Saturday and a historic split stone chalet offers food and spirits around one of three blazing fireplaces.
